Healthy Savings® Now at Western Beef!

UnitedHealthcare and Oxford have launched a Healthy Savings program that will offer coupons for healthy foods to participants in its large group and fully insured employer-sponsored health plans.

Users that sign up for the program can receive a discount card or mobile app they can scan during checkout at more than 180 Stop & Shop and Western Beef supermarkets. The discounts are instantly subtracted from the bill and printed on their receipt. The discounts will be available for about a third of the items in the participating stores, including milk, whole grain bread, lean meats, eggs, yogurt, among other healthy foods.

UnitedHealthcare estimates the program can reduce monthly grocery bills by more than $150. The program is available to over 250,000 people in New Jersey and New York.

According to America’s Health Rankings Annual Report, 26 percent of adults in New York and 27 percent of adults in New Jersey are obese, noted United Healthcare. Healthy Savings is designed to help people take steps toward a healthier diet.
